Fascia wrap work in progress along a roof edge

You probably want this if…

  • A gutter is pulling away from the roofline
  • Fascia looks dark, soft, split or blistered
  • A roof edge has visible waves or open joints
  • Damage was discovered when old gutters came down

The work

What actually happens

  1. 01

    Expose the affected area

The visible mark may be smaller than the damage behind it. Access has to be opened far enough to find sound material on both sides.

  2. 02

    Stop the source

A leaking corner, failed edge detail or overflowing gutter must be corrected before replacement fascia is installed.

  3. 03

    Restore a sound edge

Damaged material is removed back to solid backing, replacement is aligned to the roof edge and attachment points are prepared for the next layer.

  4. 04

    Protect and reconnect

The repaired edge can then receive its specified finish, soffit connection and gutter system without hiding unresolved damage.

Planning the estimate

What shapes the price

Every home and scope is different. The final price depends on the measurements, material choices, access and the condition of the existing system. These are the factors Mountain Top reviews during the estimate.

Estimates are free. You receive a written specification and fixed quote before work begins; the price changes only if a genuinely hidden condition appears that could not have been seen beforehand.

  • Length and depth of the damaged area
  • Access behind gutters and roof-edge materials
  • Partial repair versus full-run replacement
  • Finish or metal wrap
  • Height and roof access

Around here specifically

What the desert does differently

Fascia in this climate can be damaged by both concentrated storm water and long-term UV exposure. The lasting fix is to repair the board and the drainage or edge detail that allowed the damage to develop.

Questions

About fascia repair

Can new gutters go on damaged fascia?
They should not. A gutter filled with storm water needs solid attachment, and covering soft fascia makes the failure harder to see until the run pulls away.
Does the whole fascia run need replacement?
Not automatically. Replacement should extend to sound material and create a reliable attachment surface; the inspection determines whether that is a section or the full run.
Can fascia be wrapped after repair?
Yes, when wrapping is part of the chosen finish. The backing still has to be sound before any metal goes over it.
